Tuesday 11th March - dawned Bright and Early - very early due to jet lag - 3.00pm to be exact. Used early rise to get an early start and headed out in South Westerly direction - through Barstow - en-route to Bakersfield as an approximate overnight stop. Stopped at Calico - a silver mine ghost town, now a living museum, that in its hey-day, housed several thousand people. The last inhabitant died at the age of 93 in 1988. Her original home and furniture set out as a historical display. The bookshelf was home to a number of old books. It was gratifying to see a number of old JW books - "Vindication" & "Light" to name but a few. Was she contacted by some early JW missionaries???? A pleasant thought to contemplate. Due to a couple of our team members flagging and the 84 degree sunshine, detoured to Victorville Stayed overnight in Hilton with D,B&B, heated pool and spa.  All indulged in sheer luxury. Cazz working on her awful American accent. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=barstow&ie=UTF8&ll=34.511083,-117.366943&spn=1.905541,3.702393&z=8
